Hi, I’m Jess — a 33-year-old social worker based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
I started The Fellow Fashionista back in 2016 as a creative outlet and a place to share everyday outfit inspiration. Over the years, it’s slowly grown into something more personal — a space where I can share style, home design, travel, and pieces of real life along the way.
These days, you’ll mostly find me sharing:
- everyday outfits and affordable finds
- cozy, mid-century inspired home décor
- travel memories and guides
- lifestyle favorites like podcasts, audiobooks, and everyday moments
- and more personal reflections and memories I want to hold onto

My Style
My style has definitely evolved over the years. While I still love fashion trends, I’ve leaned much more into comfort, versatility, and pieces that feel effortless in everyday life.
You’ll usually find me in neutral basics, cozy layers, relaxed silhouettes, and the occasional bold pop of color — usually green or red.
I love mixing affordable pieces from places like Target, Old Navy, and H&M with more timeless staples I can wear for years.
Home & Life
Creating a home that feels cozy and lived in has become one of my favorite creative outlets.
My design style leans mid-century inspired with a mix of warmth, texture, vintage touches, and collected pieces that make a space feel personal.
Outside of blogging, I work as a mental health therapist, which honestly makes this space feel even more meaningful as a creative outlet and place to slow down a bit.
When I’m not working, you can usually find me:
- walking my dog Penny
- listening to podcasts or audiobooks
- thrifting or rearranging décor
- spending time with family
- or finding a good gluten-free meal (bonus points for tacos and margaritas)
Travel
Travel is something I deeply love, even if I don’t get to do it as often as I’d like.
I’ve always loved documenting trips — not just for recommendations or photos, but because writing about them helps me hold onto the memories a little longer.
A few favorite places I’ve visited:
London, Amsterdam, Paris, Venice, and Rome
Some dream destinations still on my list:
Greece, Iceland, the Amalfi Coast, Australia, and so many more.
Why I Keep This Space
More than anything, this blog has become a place to document life as it happens — the fun moments, the creative ones, and sometimes the heavier ones too.
It’s part style blog, part creative outlet, and part personal journal.
And honestly, I’m really glad you’re here.
