Yesterday was a beautiful day for a wedding! My cousin got married yesterday in Chicago, and I was able to make it out to Chicago for the day.
I kept my wedding look sophisticated and simple, yesterday, by wearing a little black dress. Black dresses look great on anyone. They are always nice to have in your closet, and you cannot have too many black clothing apparel, in my opinion.
I recently purchased this black dress on Amazon.com (Amazon Prime is the best thing in the world, two day free shipping people)! This 1950’s. Audrey Hepburn, inspired swing dress was available for Amazon Prime for a little over $20.00! Say What?! This dress is also available in multiple colors, or patterns.
A great tip for purchasing clothing online, is to read the reviews. This particular dress had over 1,300 reviews, which meant I had a good feeling about the dress I was going to purchase. If you ever are hesitant, I always suggest ordering a size up. Personally, I would rather have a large item, than something that is too small. There’s always alterations, and I’m lucky that my mom can do them for me! Find someone that can sew, and it’ll make your life so much better!
I kept my accessories very simple. Sometimes, less is more. I wore necklace that I purchased on JustFab. The necklace is called “Girl Power,” which just makes it an already awesome necklace, and it is super cute! If you are interested in what JustFab is, check out this past blog post.
I wore a pair of front-back earrings from Target. The pair that I am wearing came in a multi pack with 10 different ways to wear front-back earrings. Similar earrings can be found here, and here. Rings were from Charming Charlie’s, and Target.
My bracelet is a Fitbit Flex wristband, that I purchased on Amazon.com. This occasion, is exactly why I wanted to purchase this bracelet cover for my Fitbit Flex, because people can’t even tell that I am wearing one, but I am still able to count my steps for the day! Of course I do wear this bracelet everyday, but especially on special occasions, this bracelet comes in hand!
Lastly, my makeup. I decided to wear my favorite lipstick right now, NYX’s Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in soft-spoken. I got my nails done, to match this lipstick (since I do like to match), as well as my necklace. I kept my eye shadow simple with a light, neutral colored smokey eye. I used Revlon’s Colorstay Not Just Nudes Shadow Pallet in romantic nudes. I only used four of the colors (1-overall base, 9-inner eye, under brow, 2-upper crease, 8-outside crease). I am a person that rarely wears eyeliner, I will usually use eye shadow (normally number eye in the eye shadow pallet) with an angled brush. Today I wore Revlon’s Colorstay Eye liner in black, for a simple winged line. For my eyebrows, I used L’Oreal Paris Brow Stylist Definer in dark brunette, to fill in my eyebrows. As for my foundation, and blush, I use L’Oreal Paris True Match.
I used an old Coach clutch as my purse, in a nice cream color, and wore nude pumps from Target.
